COVID-19 Information and Guidelines

The COVID-19 pandemic is a quickly changing situation. While we try to provide the most up-to-date information, we cannot guarantee that the information on this page is still accurate. Daily Life in Fukuoka City

As of July 19, nearly all businesses and public facilities in Fukuoka have reopened, though with many common restrictions:

  • Shortened business hours
  • Encouraging contactless pick-up/delivery, online customer service, remote assistance, etc. whenever possible
  • Screening and sanitation stations at entrances to malls, department stores, etc.
  • Reduced seating capacity to encourage social distancing
  • Mandatory masks when riding public transit

There are no ongoing shortages of essential household goods or sanitation supplies, though such items are commonly subject to purchase restrictions.

Precautions taken at WAHAHA

Campus Entry:

  • Temperature checks via contactless thermometer for those entering the school campus
  • Mandatory hand sanitation
  • Those who show flu- or cold-like symptoms will be required to switch to online lessons

Classrooms:

  • Doors and windows can be temporarily closed to block external noises, but otherwise will be kept opened whenever possible
  • The largest classrooms will be used to ensure social distancing

Sanitation

  • Doorknobs, tables, appliances, and other common facilities will be disinfected both regularly and when requested

Masks

  • Both students and staff are required to wear masks when on-campus
  • Teachers and students are required to bring their own masks, however WAHAHA will keep spare masks available in the event of supply shortages

Entry to Japan

As of July 19, 2020, citizens of and those who have stayed in the following countries up to 14 days prior to landing will be barred entry to Japan:

Asia: Bangladesh, Brunei, China, India, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Maldives, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Viet Nam

Oceania: Australia, New Zealand

North America: Canada, United States of America
